2014 The Mary Rellergert Forestry Education Award. The Board of Forestry recognized our Youth Education Coordinator Amy Busch for excellence in forestry education and passion for teaching kids.
2011 SOLVE Citizenship Award. SOLVE (which was originally Stop Oregon Litter and Vandalism until the addition of the "E"), recognizes outstanding businesses, community groups, educators and individuals whose volunteer and community work reflects their mission of bringing Oregonians together to preserve the environment and build a legacy of stewardship.
2008 Special Recognition Award, US Department of Agriculture, Oregon Interagency Noxious Weeds. Mark Porter, our former Watershed Stewardship Program Director, received this award for his leadership in digital aerial sketch-mapping technology, Meadow Hawkweed containment in northeast Oregon, and relationship cultivation with private landowners to manage weeds across property lines when he worked for us.
2008 Oregon Renewable Energy Innovation Award. For leadership in resource stewardship and our commitment to Oregon's renewable energy future.
2007 US Forest Service Rise to the Future Award. This award celebrates excellence in professional fishery management. We received it for helping implement the Upper Joseph Creek Watershed Action Plan and restoring over 35 miles of native steelhead habitat.
2007 Community Partner Conservation Award. From The Nature Conservancy for our leadership in enhancing our working lands and educating our youth.
2005 Stewardship Leadership Achievement Award. From the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest.
2005 Oregon State Land Board Stream Project Award. For our work on the McDaniel Wallowa River Restoration Project.
2004 Spirit Award. For our leadership in Wallowa's Community Planning Process.
2003 Community Leadership Award. From the US Forest Service.
2003 Founders of the New Northwest. From Sustainable Northwest.
2002 Civic Leader of the Year. Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce recognized our Executive Director Nils Christoffersen for his work at Wallowa Resources, the Natural Resource Advisory Committee, local schools, youth soccer, and churches.
