Working Together To Solve Land & Water Issues

What is community collaboration?

Working together to benefit the community.

We bring public and private landowners together under a shared vision for land and watershed management through a Community Planning Process that has become a national model for strengthening partnerships and learning from one another.

Why We Work Together

The Community Planning Process is challenging and can be slow, but it works. Because this process operated under agreed-upon goals for health and jobs, it ended decades of forest management gridlock, created jobs, and restored Wallowa County lands and waters. This diverse group continues to lead large scale assessments, direct work, and strengthen local knowledge.

We have completed projects on Upper Joseph Creek and are now working on Lower Joseph Creek. We have also begun a forest-wide collaborative to implement a large-scale land management approach.
